What is general dentistry?

Preventive care

Preventive care uses a combination of routine checkups and teeth cleanings to keep your smile healthy and problem-free. If you’re concerned about cavities or gum disease, Dr. Park can recommend meals and snacks that help (rather than harm) your oral health.

Oral X-rays

Oral X-rays capture photos of your tooth roots, alveolar bone, and jaw. Dr. Park uses X-rays to diagnose oral health problems invisible to the eye, such as bone loss and tooth pulp damage.

Dental restorations 

If you damage or lose a tooth, Dr. Park and the team might recommend a restoration, such as a crown, a dental bridge, or dental implants.  Dental restorations repair severely damaged teeth, restoring your smile to its near-original condition.

Fillings

A filling repairs tooth enamel damaged by decay. Before applying your filling, Dr. Park numbs your mouth with a local anesthetic and removes the decaying portion of your tooth. She then “fills” the area with tooth-colored resin, preventing further damage.

Invisalign®

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth and/or jaw with a series of removable plastic aligners. Invisalign aligners are more convenient than traditional metal braces and provide stunning results.

Endodontics

Endodontics is a dental subspecialty that treats problems with the tooth pulp –– a soft substance inside your teeth that contains nerves and blood vessels. At Glow Dental, Dr. Park regularly completes endodontic procedures, such as root canal therapy and retreatment.

Bring the following information to your first general dentistry appointment at Glow Dental:

• Dental insurance information

• List of the prescription drugs and supplements you take

• Results from any recent dental X-rays or related tests

• Names and contact information from any dentists you’ve recently visited
